Caring Daycare in Petworth opened in April 2009 and
occupies part of the former Herbert Shiner School on the
southern outskirts of the town.
Developed as a joint initiative with Petworth Primary School
the nursery providing care for babies and young children up
until they start primary school is ideally located.
The nursery has been created out of former class rooms
which have been completely refitted to provide a brand new
high quality play and learning environment. All the rooms
benefit form large windows, which flood the rooms with
natural light and lovely views to the South Downs.
All the areas of learning are provided for in line with the
latest Early Years Foundation Stage guidance. There is
also a large courtyard garden opening directly off the
main room with climbing frame, bicycle circuit, playhouse,
walk in Beach, large growing garden, and covered outside
area for science exercises in all weathers. There is
planned access to the school playing fields for nature
walks and large group games. A high level of security is
maintained with a key pad access single entrance.
