Events & Activities
Our planned daily activities cover five of the Early learning Goals:
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and understanding of the World
- Physical development
- Creative development
The sixth, Personal, Social and Emotional development occurs in each planned activity but is primarily covered by daily routines such as:
- Family time
- Sharing news and first hand experiences
- Discussing feelings and room rules
- Developing self help skills e.g. putting on shoes and socks, pouring own drink, serving snacks
- Working as part of a group, asking questions, taking decisions and solving problems
- Teaching the importance of hygiene through washing hands
- Celebrating a variety of festivals and experiencing other cultures
