Employee Testimonials
Working with us is professional and fun! We want to make sure each individual team member is recognised and valued for their contribution to this goal. We want everyone to enjoy what they do and have as much fun as the children.
“I was born in South Africa and have done my schooling in a number of countries accompanying my parents on international expatriate postings. This gave me first hand exposure to many cultures, languages and religions, so I am very sensitive to treat people as per their cultural preference. I have always had a soft spot for children and decided to change my career from catering to childcare so that I can work with the little ones all day!
Having made the career change decision, I took up a position as Nursery Assistant in 2003, with no appropriate qualification! Feeling exposed without a formal childcare qualification, I started to study part time for my NVQ (II) Childcare and Education, then my NVQ (III) Children's Care Learning and Development and have completed my Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education (Sector Endorsed). As I became better qualified, I moved up the ranks and through an internal Caring Daycare Nursery Group transfer, to my current position as Deputy Manager.
I appreciate how Caring Daycare closely follows the EYFS framework. We, as childcare practitioners of the group, are very fortunate to have the support from senior management and the owners, to follow industry's best practices with the children in our care and to attend to their development in a very appropriate and caring way.”
Elana O, Deputy Manager, Major Minors Godalming.
“I feel that as a company, Caring Daycare is very supportive of its staff members and that they strive to help each person reach their full potential. Regular training courses are made readily available, and staff meetings are used to provide other opportunities for further outside group training.
During my time working at Major Minors, I have been given the opportunity to use my skills and experience in several different aspects, working my way up from Room Supervisor to acting Deputy Manager.
I benefit from having 2 appraisals a year, which give me the opportunity to get feedback on my performance, and flag up any courses or further development that I would like to undertake.
Although Major Minors is part of a family of Nurseries, that employ an extensive number of staff members, I feel that I am supported and treated very much as an individual.”
Catherine B, Acting Deputy Manager, Major Minors Godalming.
“I joined Caring Daycare in September 2003 as Deputy Manager of the Woking Nursery, with in 9 Months I was promoted to Manager of the Dorking Nursery and 18 months later to further develop my Managerial skills I transferred to Noah's Ark. I had my first of 2 children in February 2007 and after both Maternity leaves have been able to return as a Part time Manager at the Guildford nursery where I currently work.
In May 2010 I completed my NVQ L4 with the support and funding of the company. This September my eldest daughter starts school, I have been able to discuss my needs with the Operations Manager and proprietor to find working hours that work for us both.
Over the last 8 years I have always found Caring Daycare to be a professional and well run company, that support staff in their further training and listen to our views and opinions.”
Eleanor A, Deputy Manager, Guildford.
“I have worked for Caring Daycare since September 2008 and am based in the Dorking Caring Daycare nursery.
During my time here I have been shown support professionally and personally. The company has given me different training experiences which help with my work and are interesting to participate in.
I started at the company as a nursery nurse, working with children aged three months – two years. I was then given the opportunity to work with children aged two years – four years which helped me progress into my role as Floor Leader.
All staff are very friendly and when visiting other nurseries I am always made to feel welcome. I have always enjoyed my time at work and hope to progress more within the company.”
Gemma, Caring Daycare Dorking
“I have been working in childcare for around 15 years now and started working for Caring Daycare in Woking since the end of May 2008. I have been working in the 3-5 year old classroom as the room supervisor and have progressed to Third in Charge. Working with the children, parents and staff has been very rewarding and challenging as each and everyday is different. At Woking we have been involved in a variety of exciting different projects, one of which has been the ECAT project-"Every Child a Talker". I was chosen to be the Early Language Lead Practitioner and have been supported by Surrey and Caring Daycare to promote ECAT at Woking and we are reaching the targets we have set for ourselves and the children.
Within the company they look to support you with any training needs that you may have or request and strive to implement and extend those developed skills within the setting.”
Jemma W, Third in Charge, Woking Caring Daycare
“I have worked for Caring Daycare since February 2007, where I started in Guildford nursery working with the 2's – 3 years. The company supported me by enabling me to do my NVQ level 3. As from June 2008 I transferred to the Dorking Caring Daycare, due to personal circumstances. The company supported me through the transfer. Since joining Dorking Caring Daycare, I have worked with 3 months to 5 year olds. I am now based in the Koala room age 3 months – 1 year. During my time in the Koala room I have been given the opportunity to become room leader and then progressed in becoming the floor supervisor of the 0's – 2 years. In 2011, I was promoted to 3rd in charge due to my good work and commitment to the company. Since joining Dorking, I have had a lot of support from my manager and this has helped me succeed to where I am today. I have enjoyed my time working for Caring Daycare and I hope to progress more within the company.”

“I joined the company in April 2003 as a part time Nursery Practitioner. The company has given me the opportunity to attend courses relevant to the the ongoing development of my role. I have been able to study for my NVQ4 and Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies supported by the company. Throughout the eight years I have been with the company I have had the opportunity to enhance my career through promotion. In July 2008 I was promoted to Nursery Manager and had the fantastic experience of opening a brand new nursery and building a team of professional Nursery Practitioners who embrace the company’s high standards and ethos.
